After brainstorming as a Life Group and seeking God's guidance for almost a month, we have arrived at a decision. God has given us a sense of peace about this opportunity, and we are so thankful for that. We know of two families who have been having a tough time providing for their daily needs. One of those families is still going through the grieving process after one of their children took her own life. Times have continued to be tough, and this family has several tangible needs...and a big one is keeping the people in their home fed at the dinner table. We decided to give them a $50 gift card to a grocery store, in the hopes that they will be able to buy the staples needed to keep their home running smoothly. The other person we are able to bless is a single mother who has taken steps to go back to school to further her degree. She is working hard to provide for her family, and could really benefit from the sweet surprise of a $50 gift card to a grocery store.
We are so thankful to be able to disperse this money! It's been fun to anticipate their reactions to the anonymous gift. We plan to attach a note which says something like, "We care about you, and hope you feel blessed by this free gift!" We truly hope that they realize that the God of the universe deeply cares about each of them, and provides for them, even when they least expect it.
