Clean Water for Haiti

A year ago we were in the process of buying a house and moving to Vancouver. As we waited for the inspection to finish we sat and talked with our realtor about many things. We shared our Christian beliefs, hers and ours, and she told us about her son who is working in Haiti in a ministry called "Clean Water for Haiti". We have been following their blog site for over a year now and have added them to our prayer list. We have been very impressed with what they do and how they do it.

(CWH) is a volunteer-run, faith-based missions and humanitarian-aid organization started in 2001. Through Biosand filter projects CWH is able to provide a simple, effective, and affordable solution to the lack of clean water sources for Haitian families. The filter is simple and uses basic, readily available materials, allows for easy production and is easy to transport. With minimal maintenance the filter can work effectively for over 20 years. For about $40 US they can produce, deliver and install the filter. (www.cleanwaterforhaiti.org) Check out this site for more information.

In light of what has happened to Haiti this last year, an earthquake causing death and destruction, cholera, rains and a near miss from a hurricane, sources of pure water seem paramount. How we wish we had had access to this Biosand filter all the years we were in Honduras.

We are asking the Lord to let us send in more than $100 to Clean Water for Haiti. We, ourselves, feel led to match the gift from Compass. Our son in Ohio is asking for information so he can contribute. Pray with us for God's multiplication of this $100. The Scriptures are full of this principle for giving.
